Melissa contacted me after she saw Callie’s cake smash back in April.  MacKenzie was turning one in June and she wanted to do a cake smash.  Umm I’m all about cake smashes plus I love this age.  They give you the best faces, the best smiles and usually have the best time.  I mean it’s the one time we finally let them dig into their food instead of telling them not to play with it.

 

While there was an outfit change, Daddy had a hold of Mackenzie and I just couldn’t resist this shot.  Sometimes it’s not always what happens during the session but in between the session.

A photographers worst subject is…

their own child!  Jacob, my littlest, will be 3 in just 3 weeks.  ACK!  Believe it or not, I don’t have any “formal” pictures of my own child.  I have thousands of pictures of him but he’s always in his worst looking t-shirt, no shoes…you know the look.  I finally decided that it was time [...]

 

their own child!  Jacob, my littlest, will be 3 in just 3 weeks.  ACK!  Believe it or not, I don’t have any “formal” pictures of my own child.  I have thousands of pictures of him but he’s always in his worst looking t-shirt, no shoes…you know the look.  I finally decided that it was time that I conquer taking formal portraits of my own child.  What a mistake.  You will most definitely end up with these types of pictures/faces.

But then every once in a while you get the ones that really make you happy that he/she is your child  ;)
