When Laura first contacted me back in July about her March wedding, it started out as a simple ceremony, nothing to elaborate.  After she booked, the phone calls and emails came and it quickly turned into a full blown wedding.  With fall season kicking in, we quickly scheduled their engagement session and then came Irma <insert eye roll here>

Poor Laura was beside herself because that week, nothing seemed to be going the way she wanted it.  I told her to take a deep breath and we’d get through it.  Unfortunately there’s not much I can do about hurricanes but we rescheduled and settled on Honeymoon Island for their session.  She wanted a little bit of beach, along with the boardwalks and the most important part?  To include their dog, Payton.

A bit into their session, the clouds started rolling in from the east, heading towards the beach.  I could hear the rumble in the distance so I was keeping my fingers crossed that we would be able to finish their engagement session before the rains started and we did.  Best thing about it was the fact that we ended up with an amazing sky right at sunset.

Now to patiently wait for their Cove Cay wedding in March!!

Alicia & Brent | Honeymoon Island Engagement Session

February 19th, 2014

Things that make me happy:   Having a gorgeous beach like Honeymoon Island less than 5 minutes from me and when a bride contacts me and the first thing she says is that my photos really caught her eye.  Swoon!  How I respond…hopefully in a good way 😉  Yes, I said that because that’s how […]

Things that make me happy:   Having a gorgeous beach like Honeymoon Island less than 5 minutes from me and when a bride contacts me and the first thing she says is that my photos really caught her eye.  Swoon!  How I respond…hopefully in a good way 😉  Yes, I said that because that’s how I roll (lol)

We had originally scheduled Alicia & Brent’s Honeymoon Island engagement session for Sunday but I had a reschedule so we shot Saturday instead.  Let me start off by saying that they were super troopers!  It ended up being cold and windy Saturday afternoon and Alicia stuck it out is this super cute dress and then gracefully asked if she could change back into jeans.  Personally, I don’t blame her!

Honeymoon Island has endured some serious beach erosion over the last year or two but we made the best of it.  Mother Nature gave us a great sunset so of course I had to grab a silhouette; simple and classic.  They did a great job for how windy and cold it was.

They are getting married in the Keys in November so hopefully that day will be a little less windy!   Regardless, I know it’s going to be an amazing day!  The Keys…in November?  How could it not be!
