So much happened in 2012 that it’s hard to even begin.  My business finally started growing in the direction that I wanted it too.  Trust me when I say that being a photographer isn’t all about just clicking the button.  You have to be happy with what you shoot and I’m finally there.  I brought newborns back into my shooting schedule because I honestly missed it.

2013 will focus more on newborns, seniors and weddings.  That is where my heart is.  I have launched that I will be adding birthing sessions to the “line up”, so to say.  There will be a limited number of birthing sessions a year since I also shoot weddings so I need to make sure that I’m not scheduling a conflict between the two.

Okay but back to what happened to me this year lol  First thing I did was move into a killer house.  Not only is there enough room for everyone not to be on top of each other but my backyard is awesome and I can shoot here whenever I want!!

My youngest started kindergarten and it killed me!  Funny thing is, he’s going to the same school and is in the same classroom that my oldest had 16 years ago!!  He would of had the same teacher if she hadn’t of retired last year.

He’s grown up so much over the last 6 months, it’s unreal.

(instagram photos so if you want to follow me on instagram, have at it!  @lisaottophoto I know, original huh? lol)

My oldest turned 21 this year (OhhEmmGee!!).  Bet you didn’t know I was that old, huh?  haha  Anyways…he found himself a killer girlfriend.  I love her to death and they are such a great fit for each other.  And just so you know, he’ll kill me for putting this up here.  I totally stole it from his instagram haha

If you’ve been following my whole Year in Review, then you would have seen that in October we had to put down our chocolate lab.  He was with us for 14 years, the most stubborn, sweet and bull headed dog I’ve ever had.  Now I know why he fit in with this family so well (haha)  Miss you Bubba!!

I swore that I wouldn’t get another dog.  Wasn’t going to happen.  Max, our Golden was extremely happy being the head of the household.  After all, he is 4 years behind Bubba so he never got to experience that fun.

But then along came Peyton.  She stole my heart at Dogtoberfest and was with ROAR.  That was it.  As soon as I saw this face, that’s all she wrote.

The end of the year has brought a little bit of rough times.  I vowed to myself that I would get more photos of my family, be in front of the camera more with my kids/family and make sure that I try and remember every memory that I can.  Only you can create those memories, others can’t do it for you.  They are only there to help you make those memories but make sure that you remember then and have them there forever.

So here’s to hoping that 2013 kicks some serious rear end!!  Hope everyone had a safe and happy holidays and let’s go!!

I got to photograph an old friend and her family.  This made me extremely happy to be able to capture these times.  Julie is going through a rough patch in life right now and I know these mean more than anything to her.  Check out more of the session on the >blog post<

Chelsey adopted Regan from Recycled Orphans Animal Rescue (ROAR) and I love being able to have sessions with these fur babies.  Didn’t know I did pet sessions?  haha Then you haven’t been paying attention (kidding!)  You can check out more of Regan’s session on the >blog post< or even check out the website >Off the Leash | Lisa Otto Pet Photography<

Danyle, who is one of my senior reps for the 2012-2013 school year, wanted to know if I’d do a session with her and her boyfriend for the Tarpon Springs High senior calender.  Umm of course!!  We had a blast roaming around the Blue Sink (which is owned by my landlord so don’t get any wise ideas that you’ll just wander in there lol)  After they submitted their photos, they were chosen for the COVER!!!  Pretty killer way to end the year if I don’t say so myself.
